First 2021 Meeting In Person
We had our first in person meeting today at 7pm at Site 2.
It was great to meet up and talk in real life, and Matt 2E0FNT and Richard G7LEE worked on the 12V power system to get it ready for more serious use over the summer. When it arrives - while the weather wasn’t as cold as for the AGM it wasn’t typical May weather, cool and with the odd showers. However, meeting up made up for the chilly weather and Matt’s parasols let us keep some of the worst of the rain off. We talked about how we can teach Foundation, and the opportunities the site offers, in terms of lower noise and a more permanent rig.
Mike (Membership Sec and Treasurer) announced that given the uncertainty with Covid this year we have decided to restart the club without taking formal subscriptions this year, though donations are welcome. We will have a process of signing up members via membership forms, both from a Covid angle but also so members can be covered via our RSGB club public liability insurance if we do a field event.
